About This Workshop
Intro to Improv is a one-day, 4-hour beginner workshop that introduces you to the foundational skills of improvisation.
You’ll learn the art of “Yes, And,” explore characters and spontaneous storytelling, and play games that build confidence, quick thinking, and teamwork.
No experience needed!
Guided by Instructor Kaitlyn, an experienced improviser and theatre artist, the workshop unfolds in a supportive, low-pressure setting.
Whether you’re brand new or just looking for a fun creative outlet, this workshop is the perfect launch pad.
You don’t have to be funny or outgoing. You just have to show up and play.
How It Works
- Arrive. Check in, meet Instructor Kaitlyn, then grab a drink or snack and settle in.
- Warm up. Ease in with low-pressure warm-ups and exercises that get everyone laughing and comfortable.
- Play. Dive into partner and group activities, explore “Yes, And,” and build spontaneous scenes together. No scripts, no homework.
- Wrap up. Celebrate with a class photo and leave with new skills, new friends, and a little more confidence.
Nervous about performing? No problem! You’ll never perform alone. Every activity is done with partners or in groups.
Is This Workshop for You?
Improv has something to offer everyone, whether you love the stage or have never set foot on one.
You don’t have to call yourself a performer to belong here.
This workshop could be a perfect fit if you want to:
- Build confidence and quiet your inner critic
- Think on your feet and communicate more clearly
- Ease stage fright or public-speaking nerves
- Add something fun and creative to your weekend
- Make new friends and laugh a lot
- Purposely step outside your comfort zone
In fact, most of our past students have been self-proclaimed introverts who came to work on exactly these things.
Think you’re too shy for improv? You might be exactly who this workshop is for.
Don’t know anyone? That’s how every workshop starts, and it doesn’t stay that way for long.
Whatever brings you here, you’re welcome.
